Reachable from Kuşadası, Samos offers a calm yet full itinerary with its green nature, clear coves and historical heritage linked to Pythagoras.
Pythagorion and Vathy
The port of Pythagorion, with its ancient ruins and the Eupalinos Tunnel, is suitable for a history-focused day. Vathy offers a different atmosphere with the island's center and museums.
Kokkari and beaches
Kokkari, with its windy shore, stone houses and tavernas, is a beloved stop. On beaches such as Lemonakia and Tsamadou, take the pebbly ground and wind conditions into account.
Getting around the island
Samos is a mountainous and rolling island. The main points can be seen by bus; a car provides convenience for remote coves and villages. Two nights make a quick program, three to four nights a balanced one.
Checklist
• Bring water shoes.
• Check the opening days of the tunnel and museums.
• Don't rush on winding roads.
Planning note
Samos is among the islands on the visa-on-arrival program at the gate; the current port procedures may change. You can also consider Samos within a Greek Islands cruise route.
