The most important tourist site in Figueres is the Salvador Dali Museum. Dali established a museum here to leave something behind in his birthplace and exhibit his works. Our visit begins with the magical stairs of San Bartolome-Santa Tecla Cathedral, and we will lose ourselves in its historic streets. Built upon the remains of an old Romanesque and Gothic church, this cathedral dates back to the 17th century. After admiring this magnificent cathedral, our next journey takes us through the historic streets of Sitges, where the Maricel Palace and Museum, one of the rare examples of Modernism remaining in the medieval city center, is an absolute paradise for collectors. Right opposite, we will visit the Cau Ferrat Museum, which was the home of Santiago Rusiñol, one of the leaders of the modernist movement in Catalonia. He played a major role in making the town so well-known after he began exhibiting his paintings here in Sitges. After walking through the narrow streets where the Sitges Festival, attracting thousands of people every year and serving as a backdrop for horror and fantasy film categories, is celebrated, and seeing the colorful houses and charming bars, we will head towards the beach to spend the rest of our time enjoying the day like the locals.
